In the past one or two years, major lighting companies have begun to promote energy-saving lighting products in rural areas, and the "green lighting" has gradually ignited in the countryside.
Green lighting into the countryside
In Guiyang, the “Thousand Villages Program” initiated by the International Climate Organization and the One Foundation has been in full swing. In Xiaoxi Chongzhai, Huaxi District, Guiyang City, rows of neatly arranged solar LED street lamps outline the new low-carbon and green features of this new socialist countryside. According to reports, the number of villages benefiting from the “Thousand Villages” project is quite numerous. Over the past year or so, the Qiancun project has benefited 40 administrative villages in Chongqing, Chengdu and Guiyang rural areas, and more than 400 sets of solar LED street lamps have settled in the village, 40,000. The remaining villagers benefited from it. More importantly, through a year of practice, a scientific promotion model has proved that solar LED lighting without cable laying and payment of electricity is very suitable for rural areas in China.
In addition to the introduction of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly new products in road lighting, “energy-saving lamps go to the countryside” has become one of the ways to promote new rural construction. In this year's 8 million energy-saving lamps promotion indicators, Yunnan Province has specially arranged 500,000 energy-saving lamps to face the majority of villagers in the new rural construction. Recently, with the theme of “green lighting, entering new countryside and advocating new life”, Yunnan Province has selected a number of demonstration townships to issue energy-saving lamps free of charge. In Gubai Village, Zhongshu Town, Huxi County, 850 compact energy-saving lamps were distributed to 678 households. According to the daily use of 13W energy-saving lamps for 5 hours, the entire Gubai Village can save 72,000 kWh per year and save 32,000 electricity. Yu Yuan.
In fact, Yunnan Province is not a special case. In the promotion of energy-saving lamps in this year, many cities have clearly defined the need to lean toward rural areas and increase promotion efforts. Although in most rural areas, incandescent lamps are still the lighting of choice for most homes, the dawn of green lighting has been lit.
Enterprises focus on the rural market
Correspondingly, well-known lighting companies at home and abroad have also quickly invested in this wave of rural green lighting. This year, Philips officially joined the “Thousand Villages Program” and became a partner of the program. The company promises to provide high-quality and energy-saving LED lighting for rural areas in China to promote the application and promotion of solar LED lighting technology. At the same time, Philips is also a partner of the National Development and Reform Commission's “Glorious Love” series of activities. The person in charge of Philips Lighting Greater China said that since last year, Philips Lighting has carried out energy-saving lamp donation activities in a number of remote rural areas, which has played a guiding role in establishing awareness of energy conservation and environmental protection among local villagers.
In this public welfare undertaking, domestic lighting companies are not far behind. NVC Lighting launched the donation activity of “Guangmingxing Public Welfare Project·Guangming to the Countryside” as early as last year. It has donated energy-saving lamps in towns and villages in Guangdong and Chongqing, with emphasis on daily household lighting for local farmers. More than 10,000 primary and middle school students and thousands of rural families have benefited from it. The relevant person in charge of NVC said that donating energy-saving lamps is not only an response and support to the national energy conservation and emission reduction policies, but also an important measure to improve the lighting environment and quality of life of local farmers.
In addition, many lighting companies such as Opus and Topstar have corresponding measures to donate energy-saving lamps to local villages during the promotion of energy-saving lamps, or to assist local implementation of lighting energy-saving renovation projects.
The rural market has great potential
In fact, the attention of major lighting companies to the rural market is not only due to the enthusiasm for public welfare, but also the vast market of China's rural areas. The quality of life and living environment of rural residents in China are gradually improving, and the demand for roads and road lighting in rural areas is also increasing. However, it is undeniable that the construction of rural road lighting facilities in China is still in its infancy, and there are still a large number of village roads that cannot achieve normal lighting. Facilities such as building a power grid are not only costly, but also waste resources. Therefore, how to solve the problem of rural road lighting is not only a major issue, but also a good opportunity for enterprises to expand their markets. In the Qiancun plan, the application of solar LED street lights should be explored as a feasible way.
The same is true for indoor lighting. With the promotion of energy-saving lamps, in many large and medium-sized cities, incandescent lamps have gradually faded out of people's horizons. But in remote rural areas, the use of incandescent lamps is still large. The proportion of rural population to the national population is about 70%. Therefore, for every 1% increase in the penetration rate of energy-saving lamps in rural areas, the corresponding increase is quite large. The relevant person in charge of Op Lighting has said that in the promotion of “Green Lighting Project”, 42% of Ou Pu sales are from rural areas and are very remote places. Therefore, the promotion of green lighting, the rural market is quite broad.
Economic factors become the bottleneck of promotion
Of course, despite the vast rural market, the outlook is promising. However, the difficulty of opening up this market is not small, which is the main reason why many lighting companies with insufficient capital and strength are discouraged. The person in charge of Raymond Lighting said that the rural market is quite difficult to develop in the rural market because of channel costs and service costs. In addition, the rural market is characterized by high sensitivity to prices, and consumers' consumption concepts are not mature enough, too much attention to prices, and neglected product quality.
A company that participates in the promotion of energy-saving lamps also has a deep understanding: “Energy-saving lamps are promoted to the countryside, and the state subsidies are half. The enterprises make profits of 30%-40%. One lamp only sells for about two yuan, but many people still think Expensive." It can be seen that the promotion of energy-saving lamps in rural areas still needs further guidance.
In addition, the quality of energy-saving lamps that enter part of the rural market is worrying. In the past one or two years, many energy-saving lamps companies have targeted rural areas. However, on the one hand, the prices of products that farmers can accept are too low. At the same time, some manufacturers do not have long-term development plans and strong financial strength. Many products are cheap and not good. The service life is short. Some families even use incandescent lamps after the energy-saving lamps are used up, which affects the promotion of energy-saving lamps.
Therefore, it can be said that because of various factors such as transportation and economy, the market development still needs time and investment, but its broad prospects are beyond doubt.
