When LED lights enter the daily life of thousands of households due to energy conservation and environmental protection, it is not easy to replace traditional metal halide lamps with LED lamps in marine fishing because of the low-cost heat dissipation problem of ultra-high power LED chips.
The traditional metal halide lamp has high power and high energy consumption, and the offshore electric energy of the fishing boat is all dependent on the shipboard diesel engine to generate electricity, which seriously restricts the fishing time and fishing capacity of the fishing boat.
With the advent of a new set of fish lights, this dilemma is expected to be cracked. Recently, the high-power LED fish lamp demonstration project jointly implemented by the Energy Research Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences and Shandong Renbo Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully launched at Shidao New Port Terminal in Rongcheng City.
It is reported that in the demonstration project, 104 sets of high-power LED fishing lights with a power of 1200W independently developed by the Energy Research Institute are loaded on a standard squid fishing boat with a length of 56 meters and a width of 11 meters. It has traveled to the South Pacific to carry out fishing operations. The two-year demonstration project kicked off and was optimistic about the industry due to its energy-saving and fish-catching effect.
Heat problem plagued fishermen
For fishermen, the energy expenditure of collecting fish lamps is a big expense. “A standard squid fishing boat requires about 3,000 watts of traditional metal halide lamps. The offshore power of the fishing boat is all dependent on the shipboard diesel engine to generate electricity. The power generation cost per kilowatt-hour is about 2.5-3.5 yuan. Calculated, the cost of traditional metal halide lamps is high in fishing.
In fact, do fishermen do not want to use low-energy and environmentally friendly LED lights to fish? The problem is that the heat dissipation problem of ultra-high-power LED lights is a problem that has long plagued the industry. The photoelectric conversion rate of LED lamps is only 15% -36%, and nearly 70% of the electrical energy is converted into heat energy, which leads to high temperature of LED lamps.
"The temperature of the center of the LED lamp can't exceed 90 °C. If it exceeds this temperature, it will accelerate the light decay, increase the temperature of the electronic components, and reduce the service life of the LED lamp. To solve this problem, it must take unconventional means to effectively dissipate heat." Liu Zhigang explained Say.
The data shows that for every 2 °C rise in LED device temperature, its lifetime will drop by 10%. Therefore, high temperature has a great negative impact on the quality of LED lamps.
When we walk on the road, we often find this phenomenon: After a summer, the LED street lights that have just been installed for a long time have become bleak, and even some of the lights have not been installed for a long time. If high-power LED lights do not effectively solve the heat problem, it will be difficult to last.
It is precisely because the technology is not mature enough that the fishermen have gradually lost their confidence in the attempt to high-power LED lights again and again, and the resistance has risen.
LED fish lights perform well
Obviously, in order to make LED lamps widely used in fishing boats, the first thing to solve is the low-cost heat dissipation problem of ultra-high power LED chips.
In September 2017, a small light fishing boat with a length of 24 meters and a width of 8 meters sailed in the Yellow Sea off the 50th nautical mile of Shidao Island in the Shandong Peninsula. On this fishing vessel, a performance comparison experiment between a traditional fish-harvested metal halide lamp and a super-power LED fish-set lamp was carried out. Among them, the super-power LED light collecting lamp is the result of the micro-heat transfer team of the Energy Research Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences, led by Liu Zhigang. This work has gone through five years of research.
“The heat dissipation adopts non-power cooling method and non-corrosive and non-polluting cooling medium, and the heat dissipation capacity reaches 100W/cm2. After rigorous testing, it can also guarantee the long-term work of the chip under the working environment of 95°C.” Liu Zhigang said.
This LED fish lamp looks like its appearance, but it has achieved effective heat dissipation for more than 1000W LEDs in the industry for the first time. At the same time, it solves the problem of traditional single-point failure of water circulation refrigeration series and low cooling efficiency, making ultra-high power LED lighting equipment It is practical to be applied.
The comparative experiment also allowed the fishermen to see their superior performance, and they performed well in terms of energy saving, fish trapping, response speed and stability. “In terms of energy consumption, the metal halide lamp current is 240A at the same voltage and frequency. The LED lamp current we developed is only 80A, and the power consumption is 1/3 of the metal halide lamp. This means that a standard squid fishing According to the calculation of 300 days a year, the ship can save at least 4 million to 5 million yuan in electricity costs," Liu Zhigang said.
The fish collection effect and response speed also show the power
On September 20th, 36 tanks were used for the first net fishing with metal halide lamps, and the economic value was 2,223 yuan. On September 21, the first network of LEDs developed by the energy source in the same sea area was used for 40 boxes of fishing. The economic value reached 11,285 yuan; the second network used 38-ton fishing with metal halide lamps, and the economic value was 6,650 yuan.
In order to improve stability, Liu Zhigang and his team also developed a low-power, stroboscopic ultra-high power LED power supply, using a unique power management scheme, using active PFC technology to make the power factor of the power supply >0.99, current harmonics Control below 3% to provide a stable and reliable output for the LED.
According to the Economic Reporter, the high-power LED fishlight demonstration project has attracted the first round of strategic investors to raise 50 million yuan.
For the cost issue that fishermen are most concerned about, this LED fish lamp has also been measured by the research team, and finally achieved the same price as the traditional metal halide lamp.
