Send Away Incandescent Lamps To Welcome LED Lighting

- Sep 27, 2019-

When interviewing the general manager of Hangzhou Liangcai Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., he was driving to Taizhou, and the car was equipped with LED phosphors independently developed by Liangcai. Last year, he gave up a good job and pulled on two friends to start independent research and development and production of LED phosphors. This move also fills the gap in Zhejiang's LED phosphor production enterprises.

Right now, companies like LEDs that have started or have been involved in LED lighting are constantly emerging in Zhejiang, prompting them to make a decision about the bright future of LED lighting. As the "incandescent road elimination roadmap" is gradually approaching, industry insiders expect that LED lighting is expected to be included in the financial subsidies for promoting efficient lighting during the 12th Five-Year Plan period.

In the critical period of sending away old friends and welcoming new friends, it is a new big cake in front of Zhejiang enterprises.

70 billion yuan big cake emerges

LEDs are common light-emitting diodes that convert electrical energy into light energy. LED lighting products combine several light-emitting diodes to create a stable lighting effect.

Weng Maoyuan, chairman of Zhejiang Lighting Association, pointed out that LED lighting saves more than 60% of electricity compared with traditional energy-saving products, and its life span is 5-10 years. There is no mercury pollution problem faced by energy-saving lamps, but it is only sold for one hundred yuan. The price limits its promotion. However, in recent years, the production cost of LED lighting has dropped significantly.

“Zhejiang enterprises have basically completed the transition from incandescent lamps to energy-saving lamps,” he said, so the next focus is to seize the opportunity of LED lighting.

"For the next five years, the proportion of LED lighting will continue to increase. We expect that this proportion will rise to 36% by 2015, and the output value will reach 27 billion yuan, an increase of 90%." The reporter calculated roughly according to the data provided by the industry association. For a moment, during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, the estimated output value of LED lighting will be close to 70 billion yuan. Weng Maoyuan said that the actual situation will be better.

Weng Maoyuan said that the industrial chain of LED lighting is very long. Zhejiang has not yet formed a relatively large-scale industrial chain, but there are companies involved in many major links.

Zhejiang enterprises win a place

"Now LED lighting products are mainly faced with three major problems, chip, drive and heat dissipation." Wu Chao, manager of the engineering department of Hangzhou Rainbow Photoelectric Co., Ltd. told reporters that in these three pieces, Zhejiang enterprises have different levels of intervention, and some are already in The national leading level.

Severe light decay, which is not good for heat dissipation, can affect the life of the LED. Zhejiang Mingxin Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. recently handed over an excellent answer in the national test of tunnel LED lights - after 10,000 hours of illumination, the brightness of the light source lost only 2%.

"Under the same conditions, the light decay of other domestic products may reach about 20%." Su Guangyue, general manager of the company said. He expects that the output value of Mingxin will more than double this year, reaching 500 million.

"Chip accounts for more than 60% of the total cost of LEDs, but most of the LED lighting chips in China rely on imports." Wu Chao said.

In July last year, Yaweilang Optoelectronics (China) Co., Ltd.'s four LED chip production lines were officially put into production. The Hangzhou Bay LED Industrial Park is the first company in China to have advanced LED technology and patents. Yan Chunhui, CEO of the company, expects sales to reach 60 million US dollars this year. In the field of driving, Infineon Optoelectronics (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd.'s product conversion efficiency is 5%-10% higher than that of its peers, which extends the life of LED lamps by 2-3 times.

It is understood that in the bidding for the national LED lighting demonstration project of the three ministries and commissions last year, seven enterprises in Zhejiang won the bid, accounting for 25% of the total. Zhejiang enterprises have already occupied a place in the national LED lighting industry.

Energy-saving lamps companies can not be too hasty

Will the rise of LED lighting make traditional lighting products quickly withdraw from the market?

Du Guohong, the general manager of Hengdian Group Debang Lighting Co., Ltd., is blunt. He believes that the statement that LEDs eliminate energy-saving lamps is not accurate. This view has also been recognized by Weng Maoyuan. He said that although LED lighting has a relatively large advantage, the short-term cost performance cannot be compared with energy-saving lamps, and it does not have the possibility of widespread promotion. If traditional energy-saving lighting companies can solve the problem of mercury pollution, they will not be at a disadvantage for a long period of time.

In Du Guohong's view, if traditional energy-saving lighting enterprises want to enter the LED field and succeed, they cannot follow others. "There must be their own intellectual property rights and development models."
